Dr. Sherrie Bieman-Copland obtained a B.Sc. in Kinesiology in 1982 and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Waterloo in 1992. She has been an Adjunct Professor in the Psychology Department at Brock University since 1995 and registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario since 1996. Her areas of practice are Clinical Neuropsychology, Health Psychology, and Rehabilitation with Adults and Seniors. She founded Bieman-Copland and Associates in 2002 to ensure high quality neuropsychological care to people in the Niagara Region. She is pleased to be a Partner in the transition to BCA Neuropsychology Group. Her clinical interests including working with clients with impaired self-awareness and other behavioural challenges following brain injury. She is incorporates mindfulness techniques into her psychotherapeutic work with clients and is committed to her own meditation and yoga practices, including regularly participating in silent retreats. Dr. Bieman-Copland has been an Instructor for the training programs in Brain Injury Rehabilitation offered jointly by Brock University and the Ontario Brain Injury Association. This teaching has taken her across Canada and to New Zealand. Dr. Bieman-Copland has been on the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Niagara (BIAN) since 2004 and currently serves as President. She volunteers her time two afternoons per month at BIAN's Oasis Clubhouse and facilitates the Moving Ahead with Brain Injury and Leadership Groups for BIAN. In collaboration with Bayshore Therapy and Rehab, she was part of the of the development team for the Niagara Pain Program, a comprehensive pain management program specifically developed to serve residents of Niagara.
